On what to expect from The Diary.Pretty straightfoward here. The Diary is what it purports to be: a record of events or observations kept at regular intervals. How regular remains to be seen. One imagines a level of frequency during unemployment that may recede during employment, even though one would very much like to keep up the pace.

It uses a few plugins to counter spam, organize posts, and provide OpenID signin. I’ve removed the incredibly annoying autosave functionality, as well as the post revision functionality, and made a few other tweaks to the core code.
Other notes:

On building a content slider with javascript, that does not look like Apple's product browser.
The slider functionality in the Series section (and other sections) is copyrighted to Erik Arvidsson (2002) and released in 2006 under Apache Software License 2.0. I found the javascript slider functionality through Chirag Mehta’s cool work on the Tagline Generator, which I hope to implement here soon.
The slider itself is a bit clunky. Probably my fault because I know enough about Javascript to be dangerous, but not enough to actually fix it. It may smooth itself out when there are many items through which to scroll.
